Why we made it this way

Bubble Breath paces a simple 4-in, 6-out rhythm, which works out at six breaths a minute. We made the out-breath longer on purpose: many people find a slow, longer exhale helps them feel steadier. A 3-second countdown starts the round, and ten breaths take 1 minute 40.

There is no fail state. Input isn't judged for 0.8 s around each change, so pressing late or letting go early is fine, and a breath only needs to be roughly in sync to earn a pearl. Doing nothing still ends kindly with a star. Big 'Breathe in…' and 'Breathe out…' text plus a countdown inside the bubble mean you never rely on motion or sound alone.

Hold the screen, the mouse button or Space, and the colours follow your mood. That makes it an easy breathing exercise online for anxious moments, for adults at a desk, and one of the gentler breathing games for kids in a classroom brain break.

Good for these moods

  • 😰 Anxious: Many people find that a longer breath out than in helps them feel steadier. The bubble sets an easy 4-in, 6-out pace so you only have to follow.
  • 🀯 Overwhelmed: One thing to do, one bubble to watch. Ten slow breaths give a crowded head a short, simple pause.
