Why we made it this way
Pair Pals is the classic matching pairs game, made gentle. There's no timer and no fail state; a miss just shows both cards for 900 ms and turns them back. Levels grow from 12 cards to 16 to 20, and between levels a small celebration card carries on by itself, with 'Finish here' one tap away if that's enough for today.
Stars come from how many turns you take per pair, so you can play for a tidy score or just for the animals. Cards resize to fit your screen, tall on phones and wide on laptops, and colours follow your mood. Fast double-taps can never leave three cards face up.
Every card is a real button: Tab or arrow keys move along the grid and Enter turns one over, and reduced motion swaps the flip for a fade. It works as a memory game online for adults who want a calm focus, and as a memory match game for kids at home or in class.
Good for these moods
- ๐ข Sad: Gentle, cute faces and one small focus at a time. Every match is a little warm moment, and nothing can go wrong.
- ๐ฟ๏ธ Restless: Remembering where the panda was gives a fidgety mind a clear, calm job with quick wins every few taps.
