Why we made it this way

Most fireworks simulators online let you click for a round burst. We wanted you to design your own, so Firework Painter turns whatever you draw into the shape of the explosion: up to 160 points along your line become sparks that fly out and land right on their spot, then sag and fade over about 1.8 seconds. A drawn heart bursts as a heart.

Tap for a classic round burst, or press 🎆 Finale! for 8 bursts in a row: hearts, stars, rings and a spiral. Colours come from your mood plus a six-colour rainbow running along your line. The sound is a soft whistle and a low boom, never a blast, and nothing ever flashes the whole screen.

It also plays with the keyboard (arrows aim, Space launches, F for the finale). There's no score and no timer, so it's a fun way to burn off excited energy, to celebrate Diwali, New Year or a birthday from the sofa, and a safe way for kids to draw fireworks online.
