Pile Sorter ๐Ÿ“ฆ

A calm to-do list game online: little to-dos like emails, laundry and a birthday card drift slowly onto a pile. Pop each one into Now, Later or Let go (those float away as balloons ๐ŸŽˆ) and watch the pile shrink. The pile never gets too big, and there is no wrong answer.

Why we made it this way

Pile Sorter is a brain dump you can play. When everything feels urgent, the hardest part is often just deciding, so we give you three big boxes, Now โšก, Later ๐Ÿ• and Let go ๐ŸŽˆ, and one thing to decide at a time. There are no wrong answers: the point is the act of sorting, not getting it 'right'.

We kept the pace slow on purpose. A new to-do arrives every 2.2โ€“2.8 seconds and the pile never holds more than 6, so it can't run away from you. After 20 things you see how many went in each box, with a gentle nudge like 'just start with the first one'. Let-go items turn into balloons and float off.

Drag, flick or tap a box on a touch screen, or press 1, 2 or 3 on a keyboard. It's one of the quieter sorting games online, with no timer, and it suits adults facing a long list, students before exams, or a class practising how to prioritise.

Good for these moods

  • ๐Ÿคฏ Overwhelmed: When everything feels like a lot, sorting one thing at a time makes the pile feel smaller. Slow pace, no wrong answers.

Questions people ask

What is a brain dump?

A brain dump means getting every task out of your head and in front of you, then deciding what to do now, later or not at all. Pile Sorter turns that into a short, calm game.

What can I do when I'm overwhelmed with tasks?

Many people find it helps to write everything down, pick just one 'now' thing and start with that. Pile Sorter is a two-minute warm-up for exactly that kind of sorting.

Is there a timer?

No. Things arrive slowly, the pile stops growing at 6, and you can take as long as you like over each one.
